Graduation Pathways

Today, a child who graduates from school with a mastery of essential skills and knowledge is prepared to compete in the global marketplace, with numerous paths of opportunity available to lead a successful life.

  • Dropouts earn on average $12,000 per year or 50% less than those who have a diploma
  • Dropouts are 50% less likely to have pensions or healthcare and more likely to experience health issues

The Bay District Schools Graduation Pathways program offers varying pathways to graduation! The Graduation Assistance Team at each high school develops an Individual Graduation Plan for each student who is in need of graduation assistance and monitors the progress of this plan on a monthly basis.

Students are a critical part of this team and are counseled on all pathways to graduation. Included in these discussions are options for continued study after high school.

Graduation Coach

The role of the District Graduation Coach is to provide the needed support to increase the graduation rate of high school students by focusing primarily on the students who are not on track to graduate and/or have not met standardized testing requirements.

The District Graduation Coach pulls cohort data on students who are seniors (or should be seniors) to enable each high school to sort the students into three pathways.

The District Graduation Coach meets with high school Graduation Assistance Teams to assist with the development of Individual Graduation Plans for students in danger of not graduating.

Our Goal: GRADUATION!
